Nisqually Earthquake

On Wednesday, 28-Feb-2001 at 10:55 AM a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck deep under Nisqually, on the edge of Puget Sound south of Seattle, Washington.  Along with many other effects, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was closed due to substantial damage in the control tower.
