Frances Crouch Caraber of Jamaica Plain, MA, beloved mother
of Nancy Tuttle of Reading, MA, Zenda Sinclair of Glens Falls, NY,
Suzanne Caraber of Clancy, MT, and Pamela Caraber of Centerville, MA,
passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 14, 1987.
Youngest daughter of Mrs. & Mrs. Thomas B. Crouch of Leesville, SC, she leaves her sisters Mrs. Doris Schriner of Leesville, Mrs. Hazel Wilson of Charleston, SC and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Caraber was born and raised in Leesville, SC. She received a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in Columbia, SC. During World War II, she proudly served with the U.S. Navy in Charleston, SC, as a lieutenant junior grade.
Mrs. Caraber moved to Boston, MA after the war and earned a masters degree in education from Boston State College. From 1966 to 1985 she taught English in Boston at Brighton High School. In 1984 she traveled to India on a Fulbright Scholarship through Bridgewater State College.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, March 29th in the First Baptist Church, 629 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA.
